*Newsweek – Michelle Rhee
http://www.newsweek.com/2010/12/06/why-michelle-rhee-isn-t-done-with-school-reform.html

I just got this Newsweek issue; and although I haven’t finished it yet, I know it’s going to be a good article. I sort of wished that I lived in D.C. so I could get a better idea about what people there think of her. I’m assuming it isn’t all bad, right?

*Parade Magazine Update on Waiting for Superman kids

Interesting little article from Parade Magazine, talking about the children featured in the documentary, ‘Waiting for Superman’. I was expecting more about the children, but it was a rather brief segment that really talked more about the movie and education than the children who were/are effected by it.

*Job Hunting Tips

Don’t stop job hunting just because it’s the end of the year or due to the holidays. In fact, two friends of mine just got jobs after the Thanksgiving holidays; so people are hiring. I really liked this article’s tips on how to best hunt for jobs.

*Bloomberg News Dan Gilbert

I’m a Cleveland girl, so immediately I was drawn to this article; seeing how Dan Gilbert is the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. I appreciate Dan’s passionate response to what LeBron James did to Cleveland; and I agree with it. I also liked reading how Dan is from Detroit, another hard hit, blue collar town; it makes me feel like he will stick with Cleveland for the long-term.

*Fed Up With School Lunch

I’ve been reading this blog about two months in; I don’t remember how I found it, but I always amazed at how this teacher was able to stomach eating school lunch each day. I didn’t realize how ‘big’ the blog was – so imagine my surprise when I see that the Today Show was doing a write up on it. If you haven’t read the blog – Fed Up with School Lunch’ you should. It’s an accurate insight into what students get to eat at school each day.
